I'm having problems logging on, or staying logged on my MAC, and I'm using Safari
In the Edit Menu go to Preferences > Security and set "Accept Cookies" to Always.
Also make sure that Enable Javascript is checked on that screen.
How do I enable Javascript on IE or FireFox?
Detailed instructions can be found here.
Just click the link to which browser you are using and it will take you to those instructions.
I can't seem to log on with my PC. I know my email address and password are correct, but it
just keeps going back to the log on screen. What's up with that?
This is typically one of two problems, either cookies aren't enabled or your browser is
set to cache old pages. The first step is to make sure your browser is configured to
accept cookies from LivingFusion. Every browser version is somewhat different,
but on IE 6 here's what you do:
- In the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Make sure the security level is NOT set to "Block All Cookies". I have mine set to "Medium"
because some sites require that to allow log on. Any setting other than "Block All Cookies" should work
with LivingFusion, however.
- Click the "Sites..." button, and look at the list of sites in the box. If there is an entry for the Domain "livingfusion.org"
make sure it doesn't say "Always Block" for the Setting. If it does click on "livingfusion.org" and click "Remove", then OK.
- Type "livingfusion.org in the "Address of Web site" field and click "Allow".
- Click "OK" to close this small box and return to the "Internet Options", and you should still be on the Privacy tab.
- Click the "Advanced..." button.
- "Override automatic cookie handling" should not be checked. If it is checked, and you know why it is checked, it could be blocking the
cookie LivingFusion needs to work. Otherwise, uncheck it.
- Click "OK" to close this small box and return to the "Internet Options", and you should still be on the Privacy tab.
- Go to the General tab.
- There's a button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section called "Settings...".
Click it.
- In the window that is opened, there's a section entitled "Check for newer versions of stored pages:"
- Mine is set to "Automatically", though you might set it to "Every visit to the page" if that's how it's set now.
If it's set to "Every time you start Internet Explorer" or "Never", then it's definitely wrong.
- Click OK.
- Then, of course, click "OK" to close the Internet Options dialog and save the changes.
If this is done right, you should only need to do it once.
If the above is all set correctly and you still can't log on...
- Determine which security application you have installed and are using.
a) One way is to hover your mouse pointer over the icons in the System Tray.
The System Tray is located where the clock is on the Start bar on the opposite side of the screen from the Start button.
You may need to click on the arrow in the System Tray in order to hover over all the icons.
b) Another way is to locate the application in the Start menu. Start > Programs > (find and open the application)
*Note: You should be able to tell what it is by its name. Some common ones are Norton, Symantec, CA, and McAffee.
- Double-click on the icon for your security application.
- Each application is different so you are going to have to look around through the menus and screens to find what your Cookies setting is set to.
- Some things to look for are Cookie Handling, Firewall Settings, Advanced Settings, Privacy.
- Your cookie setting should be set to Medium. If it is set to High, it won't work.
- Make sure you save your changes with Apply, or OK.
- You do not need to close this application to test logging on.
- Open your browser, and try logging on.
- If that works, then you can close your Security Application.
- If that doesn't work, modify your Security Application settings, or find other settings that may affect cookie handling, and try logging on again.
You can also try using your security applications Help or Search menu to find where Cookies are setup.
If you've done everything above, there is one more thing you should look into.
- In your security software, locate the firewall settings.
- In the firewall settings there should be a place to enter 'Exceptions' either by URL or IP address.
- For URL enter www.connexion.org and make sure you choose 'Always Allow' or something to that effect.
- For IP address enter 208.139.202.165 and make sure you choose 'Always Allow' or something to that effect.
- Be sure to save your changes by clicking 'Apply' or 'OK'.
I forgot my password, can you send it to me?
Simply go to Log On and there is a link you can use to have your password
emailed to you.
